Leise Inspiration

These past two weeks I've been knitting every night. I savour the quietness and meditative ease after full and somewhat crazy days. We've been busy preparing for the magical time of Advent and there has been much anticipation and excitement.

Was - und wer -  inspiriert euch grade besonders?

Herzlichst, Lena

While knitting (tiny snow flake hats and jumpsuits for babies and dolls) I'm listening to the wind and rain against our windows, to the humming of the dishwasher, the children talking in their sleep and oftentimes to podcasts. Thank you for your recommendations - I've only just begun to explore this new world. And while I started off with the more scientific and news related (maybe to balance out the cosy and homey bliss of yarn work) I stumbled across some lovely fibre and yarn related podcasts lately.

I found out about the woolful podcast through the adorable Tif Fussell. Do you know her beautiful little artworks she calls Wolly Tatoos? Tif's storytelling is so very inspiring, warm and authentic and listening to her made me feel like sitting right next to her. And then I moved on to Pam Allen whose wonderful Quince & Co yarns (and pattern) I'm just starting to fall in love with. And then on to knit.fm - a podcast by Pam Allen and Hannah Fettig who designs wonderful knitting patterns herself.

And I'm still traveling on enjoying this ride very much.
You probably know these ladies very well but to me its all new and sparkly and wonderful!

In the non-virtual world (besides all the baking and crafting with the kiddos and the first snowball fights and the celebrations of the magic season with friends and family) while holding hands with my man outside in the storm we stumbled upon an intimate and almost secret concert with Simon Glöde and where spellbound and enchanted. What a sweet idea to have those small Sunday night get-togethers for neighbours and upcoming singer songwriters in a warm and unpretentious atmosphere.

    1. Listening to podcasts and radio programmes while knitting is the paramount of indulgence for me too because it means lots of other things are left undone ;-) but sometimes it is so sweet to just give yourself this me-time and enjoy it to the bones!
